Spin Master Strikes Partnership with Alibaba image

Spin Master Corp. has formed a partnership with Alibaba as it prepares to launch more brand stores on Alibaba’s ecommerce platforms, says a company spokeswoman.

The pact will give Spin Master access to Alibaba’s marketing through TMall stores as well as its “broad” social media, says the spokeswoman. Alibaba’s other divisions also will work with Spin Master on introduction of additional brands in China.

Spin Master currently operates Paw Patrol and Hacthimals stores on TMall and is readying one for its Meccano brand in Q4.

The new agreement with Alibaba comes as Spin Master pursues the Chinese market as a “part of our international growth strategy,” which accounts for about 35% of its annual revenue, COO Ben Gadbois said in a statement.
